It's showing you how to set up your Fitbit charge, walk you through the full installation process and how to download the files, and then get it all set up, so you can start using it and connect it with your computer.
Today I'm going to be showing you how to set up your Fitbit charge, I'm going to walk you through the full installation process and how to download the files, and then get it all set up, so you can start using it and connect it with your computer in the next step. I'll be showing you how to set it up with your smartphone as well, so if you're interested in that definitely be sure to subscribe to the channel, let's get started.
The first thing you need to do to set up your Fitbit device is going to fitbit.com/setup, and it will take you to this page, where you can select your operating system and download the software, once you've selected your operating system you need to go ahead and click on download here, and it will begin downloading for you. Once it's downloaded, just go ahead and open it up either in your downloads folder or wherever you saved it to, and as you can see here, it's pretty much the same on PC, you need to go ahead and click on install Fitbit connect package, and it'll bring up this page here from here, we'll just go ahead and follow the steps, we will continue, we will agree to the terms, it'll tell you it's going to use 72.1 megabytes of space on your computer, which really isn't that much, we'll go ahead and install, that you need to enter in your password, if you're prompted and then install, and it'll go ahead and write the files and get set up.
Once it's done that will go ahead and set up a new Fitbit device, and we're going to go ahead and select new Fitbit, if you have an existing Fitbit account you can use this right here, and just follow the on-screen steps, but this is a setup demo, so we're going to go to new to Fitbit from here, we can go ahead and enter in an email, a password, and go through the signup with our email or you can sign up with Facebook and Google+, for this example we'll use an email account, once you've entered in the email account and created a password, just click sign up, the next step is entering in your information, so your name, your height, your weight, your time zone and this will all work in conjunction with your band, so being honest, it will help, so enter this all in and then click Sign Up from here, we'll go ahead and select the Fitbit device that we're using now, this case we're using the charge, so we'll go ahead and select charge for now, and then it'll say meet your Fitbit charge, we'll hit next.
Now we want to turn on our Fitbit charge, so we'll go ahead and hold our device, and once it's turned on, we'll hit next, it's going to tell us to plug in our syncing dongle to our computer, so make sure you have that on hand, once you've plugged it in, it'll begin setting up, so it's searching for a charge in my case, but in your case it may go through a setup and an update and might take a few minutes, just follow the on-screen steps until you're brought to this page, where it finds a charge, and you need to enter the number that's on your Fitbit charge, so for me it's 0841, and then we'll go ahead and hit next and it's going to connect our Fitbit.
We are connected and as it says right here, it'll sync whenever it's 20 feet away from the wireless syncing dongle, which is great, so this way you're always connected, and then you can always check up on your stats online, so wSe'll hit next it's going to give you some advice here on where and care, more advice and how to track, stop exercises, things like that and also call notifications, now I'm going to show you how to set this all up with your smart phone as well as set up your call notifications in the next demo, but you should be all set up right now, so you can see right here your stats have already started and actually through that whole process, I guess I was shaking my arm quite a bit, I've gotten thirty-three steps in the process, and there's a lot of things going on here, but I'll show you how to set this up with your smart phone in the next demo as well as set up the notification, so you can get caller ID and things like that sent to the band.
