We're going to take a look at the newest version of the Fitbit. This is the Fitbit Alta and this was released today all across North America. Here is to look at a couple of things to highlight about this device.
Here is going to show you the charge HR, and my friends over Benigno actually sent me a nice leather band for it, it gives you a really classy stylish look, so sit back relax and let's get started.
Before I get into the details of the charge HR, let's go install the Benigno leather, watch on the back of the charge, there are these little clips, what you need to do is pull it with your thumb and wiggle them off like that, push it down to your thumb, and will go off, now you have the base piece right there if you look at, the Veneno is a really nice watch band, it comes with the little clips, ready to go, and it comes with the installation screwdriver here, that you can use to tighten everything up.
I'm going to slide this off real quick, and then reinstall these, how you need to install them, just slide them gently over, and today lock into place again, take that little clip right there, slide down, locks into place, and as you can see, it's got this nice little silvery look, it really finishes the Fitbit design.
Here's the new charger base, the cool thing about this one is that it doesn't require you to plug it, a little clip on the back, we're kept falling off for some people, and as you can see, next to the heart rate monitor, there are some little connectors, there you just open this up, put it on there, and let go plug that in, and it's charging, really simple.
Let's talk about some features of the new charge - one of them is it still has the heart rate monitor, it now uses the GPS on your phone, so if you actually have your phone in your possession, then as you do some running or jogging you can look back on application, see where you walked before on the charge, you actually had color pop-ups, but now you added text and calendar alerts to that, you also have a different cardio fitness level, so you can put in sports modes and some other things, and they also added the breathing session, that's similar to what they have on that Apple watch, you still have the auto sleep tracking mode, you have the exercise in recognition, and it also now tells you to remind you to move, and you get about five days of battery life on it.
Let me show you how to connect it to a device, it works on iPhones, Android, and Windows phones, and you would simply download that Fitbit app from the store, once you install it, you need to go over to account, and then you need to go to set up a device, click on charge, and then click on setup, once you agree, you need to make sure that you hit the next button, and then wait for the unit to sync, now pops up with a number, put in that code 7407, it finds it and now you're connected. Now as you go through the steps of it, it's going to give you some reminders while the buttons do, and then as soon as you get done with all these screens, you're ready to go.
Now let's look at some of the menus inside of it, it has one simple button and this does not turn off her own, what Fitbit wants you to do is reboot it like a computer, if you want to get the reset this, what you would have to do is put it into the charger dock, and then plug it to the wall, hold the button down, and then it will reboot, but the unit never stays all completely unless you let the battery die, it has a nice little LCD that shows you how many steps you did for today, time and date, if you hit it again, real fast, it'll tell you your fat burning rate, you hit it again, you can put it in run mode, you've got to stopwatch relaxed mode, and you can turn the notifications from your cell phone, the turn a notification also known, you simply hold that down notification off, hold it down again, it vibrates notifications own very simple.
I want to show you two application real quick, this will tell you now how many floors that you walk up and down, how many miles of the daily calories burned, and this button right here will show you how much exercising you did Thursday, you're going to see how many days you actually worked out, normally this will tell you how you slept, so they'll show you all breakdown of every time, it sees you get up or move, it'll tell you your sleeping patterns, the next day you also have "are you doing 250 steps per hour?" and that's when it wakes you up, and say "hey, time to move your heart rate right there." and if you get the Aria scale for it, you can also track that as well for the water intake, you can go here and do quick buttons here, and you can put your water and take there your calories burned, and then you can edit these, any way you want, they also have challenges where you can go through here, and join all these different people, doing different wall crip, walks out there, you can see their guidance, these are different workouts, you can have your friends there, and then you have your account management.
After using this new generation charge for a couple of weeks, I really think is worth to upgrade, if you have the first generation, and you're having problems where you can't take the band's off, or you didn't tired of the different screens, it is worth the investment to get to the new model, they also have six different colors that you can choose from, so you can personalize a lot more, and with the interchangeable bands like the one I got here from Veneno, you'll be able to get to both out a new watch.
